Chu Kong Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. "codeshare" with Cathay Pacific on high-speed ferry services to and from Guangdong ports.

In recent years, under the leadership of the Guangdong Province Navigation Holdings Company Limited and the Chu Kong Group and under the policy environment such as the Chu Kong Passenger Transport greatly expanding the SkyPier at HKIA business, the country's fully opening to the rest of the world, the “The Belt and Road Initiative” and the development plan of the Greater Bay Area, residents in the Greater Bay Area are travelling much more frequently to and from the rest of the world. With more high level cooperations with airlines and the support of the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Chu Kong Passenger Transport has launched the most efficient, convenient and comfortable transportation services such as baggage tag through and upstream check in services, providing passengers with a better ferry experience.


Effective from 7 November 2018, the Codeshare cooperation between Chu Kong Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. and Cathay Pacific will officially be online. There will become an integration of sales of high-speed ferry services to and from seven Greater Bay Area ports (Humen, Lianhuashan, Nansha, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Shekou and Fuyong (for Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport) and the Hong Kong International Airport with Cathay Pacific , sharing the Greater Bay Area and overseas sales network.

Cathay Pacific is the largest Hong Kong-based airline with more than 200 destinations worldwide and nearly 40 million passengers a year. Through theHong Kong International Airport as a hub, Cathay Pacific provides global passengers with direct flights to and from different parts of the world and the Greater Bay Area. Through the cooperation with the Chu Kong Passenger Transport Co., Ltd., improving the high-speed ship network, it further opens up the connection to and from the Greater Bay Area, providing passengers with a seamless and caring travel experience.


Presently, passengers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States can directly book Cathay Pacific  flight and ferry tickets to and from the mainland ports when travelling through the Hong Kong International Airport. Mainland passengers can book their ferry and flight tickets through Cathay Pacific's authorized travel agencies. Passengers can check in at the Pearl River Delta port, check their baggage through to their final destination and enjoy cash refund of Hong Kong departure tax. The "Codeshare" service will continue to extend to other international markets in the coming months.

Cathay Pacific Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Paul Loo said the Codeshare Agreement will expand Cathay Pacific's market in the Greater Bay Area. The Greater Bay Area covers nine major Guangdong cities, including Guangzhou and Shenzhen etc, as well as Hong Kong and Macau.He said: “We are delighted to cooperate with Chu Kong Passenger Transport Co., Ltd.  and provide our customers with more choices. Extending our reach to these seven ports, providing seamless connectivity between the major financial, commercial and transportation centres of the Greater Bay Area, it provides us with an excellent opportunity to open up new revenue streams. At the same time, passengers can take advantage of our convenient flight connections to and from over 200 destinations across our international network via Hong Kong.”
